What is Altavera?

Altavera is an FDA-approved generic women's prescription birth control pill. The active ingredients are two naturally-occurring hormones: ethinyl estradiol (an estrogen) and levonorgestrel (a progestin). Altavera prevents the monthly release of an egg from the ovaries.
