What is Acticoat Flex 7?
Acticoat Flex 7 is an antimicrobial wound dressing with a nanocrystalline silver coating over a polyester fiber knit. Acticoat Flex 7 is used to provide a barrier for first and second degree burns, grafts, surgical sites, venous ulcers, bedsores, and diabetic ulcers.
The nanocrystalline silver on the surface of Acticoat Flex 7 provides a silver “reservoir” that dissolves into the wound slowly and steadily over several days. Silver is a potent antibiotic, so the dressing keeps a sufficient amount of silver dissolved into the wound to kill bacteria.
