2019 Winners
The CVS at 301 Andrews Highway in Midland, Texas, won SingleCare’s Best Pharmacy for Savings award. Using SingleCare’s pharmacy savings card and coupons, the staff saved their customers more than any other pharmacy in the U.S. this past year.
There are four pharmacists and eight pharmacy technicians on staff to provide expert insights to customers and act as a resource for any health or pharmacy-related questions they may have.
What does your team do to go above and beyond for customers?
At CVS, we truly put the customer first and are always thinking of ways to better their experience and our pharmacists and technicians at this store are a shining example of this. Not only are they extremely knowledgeable, but they make it their priority to address every patient concern and assert themselves as a resource for all health-related questions even beyond filling prescriptions.
CVS Pharmacy also looks to provide customers with options to make their experience convenient and informative and our pharmacists and technicians are an integral part of this by anticipating customer needs and offering solutions to common pain points. Our two lead techs, Ainee Lou and Lucille Osorio, and lead inventory specialist, Holly Roberts, go above and beyond to train all of our staff to maintain a high level of service and to proactively inform customers about services such as 90-day enrollment, CVS ReadyFill, and our new CVS CarePass program to enhance their experience.
Beyond our work at the pharmacy counter, we extend our care through patient education and initiatives like our medication disposal bins. To prevent unused medications from becoming harmful to others, our store location offers a medication disposal bin—which is one of the only locations in the area with this tool. This gives us another opportunity to help guide patients and the entire community toward proper medication disposal.
What do you do to create such a customer-focused team?
In order to really emphasize the importance of customer care, our front store team manager, Teri Smith, and I execute trainings for all staff members, sharing all of the core principles at CVS including helping patients on their path to better health. We stress everything from promoting eye contact and immediate acknowledgement to how to work together with other pharmacy-trained colleagues to ensure that customers are being served in a timely, friendly manner.
What else sets you apart?
We are currently the only 24-hour retail pharmacy in Midland county, so patients and customers are able to get their prescriptions at their convenience, regardless of what time of day it is. It drives our goal of providing the ultimate convenience for customers.
