Key takeaways

  • SingleCare helped a cancer survivor significantly reduce the cost of her prescriptions, starting with savings on prednisone and extending to other medications.

  • The survivor has saved over $200 in a year and a half using SingleCare for various prescriptions, including blood pressure medicine and water pills.

  • SingleCare’s website offers detailed information on medications, including dosages and side effects, and provides price comparisons across local pharmacies.

  • The cancer survivor actively promotes SingleCare to others at the pharmacy, highlighting the substantial savings the service offers.

I started using the SingleCare app when I was diagnosed with lung cancer about a year-and-a-half ago. I was out walking my dog one morning and suddenly a sharp pain began radiating from my left wrist all the way up to my shoulder. I thought I was having a heart attack. I went to the hospital, and they did a variety of scans and found a mass on my left lung.

I ended up having half of my lung and 19 lymph nodes removed. That was followed by a short round of chemotherapy to make sure all of the cancer was gone. I was left with a lot of medical bills and copays. On top of everything, after chemotherapy, I developed severe joint pain—I couldn’t lift my hands above my head or even brush my teeth. My doctor prescribed prednisone, and that was the first prescription SingleCare helped me save on.

A quote of SingleCare reviews

Right off the bat, I signed up for the loyalty program, so SingleCare gave me a $5 off coupon. I’ve been able to save $2 to $3.50—sometimes even $5 with changing steroid prices—on each refill since.

I now use SingleCare for several of my prescriptions. I save $7 to $8 every time I refill my blood pressure medicine and $2 to $3 on my water pills. Over the past year and a half, I’ve easily saved more than $200. The savings add up.

When it comes to SingleCare, I don’t only use the app—the website has so much useful information, too. That was one of the things that initially really impressed me about the company. I like to research the prescriptions I’m taking before I go to the pharmacy, and SingleCare has breakdowns for any kind of drug you can think of. The site explains dosages, side effects, and more.

SingleCare also tells you exactly what you’re going to pay for the drug at pharmacies in your area, like Walgreens, CVS, Publix, and Walmart. That’s handy because a lot of drugs change prices monthly. And with the supply chain issues right now, you’re not always able to get your prescription right away. Or you have to get a smaller amount because there’s only a ration amount, so that makes the prices go up. It’s even more important to save money when you can.

I can’t say enough about SingleCare. Every time I’m in line at the pharmacy at Publix, I ask people: “Have you ever heard of SingleCare?” I tell them about it. Most of the people that I’ve talked to are excited about it and write it down or put it in their phone. It’s savings you can’t turn your back on.
